The River Thames 1884

For those wishing to follow in the footsteps, here is a map published just five years before J, Harris, George and Montmorency made their epic journey down (or is it up?) the Thames.  It was published by James Reynolds & Sons, 174, Strand, as THE OARSMAN’S AND ANGLER’S MAP OF THE RIVER THAMES, a ‘new edition’ using the cartography of 4th April 1881 (it’s dated very precisely at the foot of the twelve fold-out cloth-mounted pages).
